THE CARLYLE SOCIETY

 

The Carlyle Society was founded in Edinburgh in1929, and has been meeting regularly for the last eighty years. For the last fifty or so, papers presented during the session have been published and distributed to its world wide membership. They cover all aspects of Carlyle scholarship.  Meetings are held some six times in each session of the university, at 2.15 pm in 11 Buccleuch Place, behind George Square and the Edinburgh University Library.
